Questions that need answers - Epangelo nali talepo nawa mpo!

The lines have been drawn, the showdown is set. As the universal saying goes “when two elephants fight, it’s the ground that suffers”. So what happens when three elephants fight? It probably goes something like “When three elephants fight, all the other animals scatter and run for the burrows screaming”.  If you are still lost and have no idea what I’m talking about, let me enlighten you. The melodramatic saga that is the SWAPO succession race for the Vice Presidency has been narrowed down to three candidates. Stalwart Iron Lady and current Secretary General Meme Pendukeni Iithana is one of the candidates. Firebrand veteran and sometimes political mouth piece bordering on loose cannon Tate Jerry Ekandjo and charismatic former Prime Minister Hage Geingob, who is the incumbent in the Vice President Position. The Winner is guaranteed to become the next president of Namibia, unless the ground opens and swallows the country whole, a tsunami submerges everything under water or a...

Just another douche bag

Lost soul, original image--> (dpreview.com) I am a nice guy, but even nice guys can be bad. One bad deed can haunt you for a long time, something that I know all too well. I was reading the last letter that she ever wrote me the other night while bed ridden by the flu from hell, I was caught in a moment of nostalgia spurred on by the disorientating effects of antibiotics. Like most nights I spend by myself the ghosts in my past were torturing me again, an unhealthy trend that I pray stops before I lose my sanity. Unlike the first letter she wrote me which was filled with hugs, kisses and emotion so genuine that it would induced an unexplainable fuzziness inside me. This one is laced with a cold regret and anger, lots of anger. Most of it directed towards me, anger I did not understand till today. Anger that I thought was undeserved and misdirected, but now I know its anger that I was responsible for creating. I did what most men do; I tried to change her and stopped listening at t...

One namibia, one nation?

Image
In the realm of men every revolution is born of good intentions, but in the end those in power never truly fulfil the promises that they made to their brethren who flocked to their side, to assist and delivering a victory that they might not live to see. Namibia is such a realm. The phrase “One Namibia, One nation” was synonymous with the struggle for liberation, a struggle watered by the blood of brethren, many who never lived to see the freedom that they died to deliver. Namibia was united behind a common purpose and that I believe is the main reason Namibia is independent today, because each and every Namibian wanted it and did what they had to do. In whatever way they could they contributed . Those two last statements are bolded and highlighted for a reason. It should be noted that contrary to popular belief, Namibia's independence was not won in battle (although it contributed), Independence was negotiated.   Apartheid had become illogical, even the National Party has...

The unsuspecting moodle

Life is not a walk in the park, not by any stretch of an over active imagination. In life you must be strong like the bones of a marathon chicken. Life and everything involved in it requires a certain level of self belief and confidence, you must have the confidence of Julius Malema dodging corruption charges. Otherwise you will become an unfortunate victim of the dog eat dog world that we live in, the food chain that is modern society teaches an individual to always be one step ahead (thinking on your feet). Let’s apply this to interactions between young men and women. The possibility is high that out of every five gentleman reading this post, six of them have fallen in like with a lady who was genuinely caring towards them as a friend but just never looked at them as a potential partner. Noticed I said like and not love, simply because love is stupid, blind and will result in you losing your mind (side effects of too many broken relationships). I’m sure the guys will feel me on...

The one that got away Part 2 _The sequel

Image
I decided to make Mpume Sithole's day have and pen a sequel to the entertaining story in my previous post of how I choked on my words like a virgin teenage boy and ended up in the friend zone. I've been struggling as of late to even string two paragraphs together (Nope! its not because I got a girlfriend), writers block has been sticking to me like a g-string between a fat girls buttocks. So do excuse me if I don't hit the peaks of hysteria that all of you have grown accustomed to from me (So sit down, relax and chill your Guava!). I did not know how I was going to write this post without offending the femme fatale in this particular story. So I thought about really hard for like 5 seconds and decided to go with the richard Branson approach (yaa"ll know him right? the guy behind the Virgin brand?), his approach is simple and can be summed up in a title of one of his books "Screw it! let's do it". So I'm just gona tell the story, if she catches...

The one that got away

Ahem! *cough..cough* after a few serious blogs I thought it was time to lighten the mood a little and throw in my trademark sarcastic humor. So those of you expecting a serious post about life and the complexities involved should sit down, relax and chill your guava ( ˘˘̯) , like the insatiably bubbly @ bubbs07 says (If you are not following her on Twitter than I don't know what you're doing with your life). I learned a lot in varsity, 2 billion years of geology and the usefulness of Google being two of those things. But there were a couple of classes that I missed, classes that I was too busy with geology to have attended. Those classes include ; How to pick up girls 101, How to date Multiple girlfriends 101 and 102, How to control your temper 101, 102, 201, Pick up lines 101 to 301 and Women whispering/Body language and unspoken words analysis 101 to 301. So as you can see I missed out on quite a lot, that contributed to my social retardation. When it comes to girls, ...
