It’s life, live the shit out of it!

Hey you. Yes you, I am talking to you. No! stop looking around, there are no hidden cameras, stop pinching yourself this is not a figment of your imagination. Come on, really! Now you are just being silly, remove your hands from your ears, you are not hearing voices. Please step away from that ledge, you know that people can't fly. Please move that loaded gun away from your head, you know a bullet is harder than your skull, in the fight of human vs. hand gun; the human has never won. Please remove that rope from around your neck and step down from there, you know if you go through with this you are not only going to die but you will literally shit yourself, not only will you be dead but then you will really be full of shit. What is it that lead you to this lowest of points in your life, how did you end up in this valley of depression. What problem is so big that you choose death instead of facing it. Listen to me, you are not doing anyone a favour, the world is not going to be ...

The Hustle

I'm what you call a funny blogger; I use my wit and sarcastic humour to make people laugh. It’s my signature style, seldom do I sit down and actually delve into deep thought and write about bread and butter issues, but when I do I bring everything to the table. I don't take sides when I write serious posts; I just tell it like it is, here goes! According to the FinScope Consumer Survey 2012 in which 1200 Adults were interviewed 52 % earn N$1000 or less, which means that four out of ten Namibians would have been stranded without cash in the last six months. 9% say they had to get money from friends to make ends meet. Only three % received a salary cheque bigger than N$11 000 every month, they make up 7 % who say that they have no problems paying their bills. About 76 % stated that they struggle to make end meet, with 12 % relying on government old age pension. now I guess you understand why so many ordinary Namibians drink so much, but that's the fuckery of life. Working cla...

The los shandie theory

Image
Isaac Newton was hit on the head by an apple, he was probably sleeping under the apple tree but no one questions these scientists we just believe what they say; he went on to formulate several theories and three very important laws of physics.  Typical los shandies - original pic from http://media.concreteloop.com/ On the other hand, I ’ ve never been hit on the head with an apple; though I have been hit on the head with a beer can by a scar faced ngandjera washe. Unfortunately after one blow the can ended up with a huge dent, what can I say; I have a hard head. He tried to hustle me for N$ 40.00 at a Tate Buti concert, as much as I like his perverted sense of humor I regret going to that show, that ’ s one of the reason ’ s I hate going to music shows. You never know who you will find there, just patiently waiting for you to make their day a good one by playing your role and providing them with a wallet or cell phone that they can affirmatively repossess. That will no...

Hard to let go, Harder to accept

Death has no protocol. It does not ask whether you are ready to go or not, it will not inquire if they are still things you need to do. It does not make appointments and just shows up out of the blue like pimples on the forehead before a big date. Death has no protocol; it does not ask those closest to the person it has come for if he or she is still needed. Just like a thief in the dark night, it snatches and disappears. All that is left are the memories. As of late sleep has been playing hard to get like a girl from uukwaluudhi, its getting annoying, to the point where going to bed is not worth looking forward to anymore, I haven’t turned in my bed like this since 2011. An image haunts my thoughts, the last image I saw of my brother. He usually slept with his mouth open and that's how he looked, like he was sleeping (I’m told everyone looks like they are sleeping). He looked like he normally looks in his slumber, except for the dent in his forehead, a result of the autop...

The struggle continues

Life is a struggle: no one will hand you any favors, unless you are sweetening the deal with a bribe of the flesh/giving up the cookies for extra benefits. The struggle gets even harder if you begin your life at a disadvantage, due to the colonial history that is now firmly behind us most black children are born into a cycle of poverty that requires immense hustle to get out of. I could go into depth about how colonization and the subsequent siege of Namibia by apartheid regime resulted in the disadvantaging of black people at the expense of their white counterparts, which was inherited by children both black and white, but that's not the point I'm trying to make here. The minority of people young enough to be classed as children in 1990 were born in exile, the majority were born inside the borders of Namibia's beautiful bosom. Another faction of 'struggle kids', who I think are old enough to referred to as 'struggle people' have yet again become ...
